Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Sakura Miyawaki: Few current mag spreads plus 'coming of age' ceremony pics/video

Once this is done going to start on the recaps for episodes three and four of the "Girls' Generation 1979" drama. Recaps for hour long shows tend to take a while so it's just a heads up if you don't see any posts until this time tomorrow though will try to squeeze one in.
AKB puts out singles on a consistent basis but noticed that hasn't been the case for their sister groups. NMB just put out their first single in exactly a year while SKE also just released one in 2017 but their 22nd single came out on Wednesday. Most of the sister group's sales have fallen so much the past three years and to me the long gaps between singles is the main reason.

In 2017 HKT released just two singles in 2017 but that's normal for them as every year they've been in existence it's been two singles a year. But on December 27th the group did put out their first album which is titled "092", no clue what it refers to. First week sales were 122,000 to place #1 on the Oricon charts, that figure was higher than SKE's latest album. To me it's just a so-so release, the songs are good as it's all of their singles but not enough new tunes. However for the deluxe versions with DVD's appear to be impressive as a lot of the videos are solo ones.

On to some recent Sakura pics, she's probably my youngest fave and has been for close to two years. Granted she's not the most alluring '48' member but the last few months she's really looking grownup. What also helped becoming a fan is that Sakura seems to have the lead in most AKB dramas and waiting patiently for their next one. HKT songs are good but not too memorable, they're not ones that stick in my head though I do enjoy them.
But do like most of the members and joining Sakura in this first set from the current issue of SPA! is her mate Madoka. She's someone I've done a few posts for in the past but not enough of them, will work on changing that. She could be the tallest active '48' member as her height is 168 cm and is there anyone taller besides some JKT gals?

Other two Sakura spreads are from December with this set being from BLT Graph.

The year ended off well as Sakura graced the cover of the December 11th Young Magazine.

Sakura doesn't turn twenty until March 19th but she was still eligible to attend her 'coming of age' ceremony, it's for females hitting the age of twenty a few months before or after January 1st. That date makes her a Pisces, maybe I'll do a Zodiac post to check if I'm right as I'm fairly sure more of my faves were born between February 20th and March 20th than any other Zodiac span.
It was an AKB family ceremony as 41(!) members have hit or are about to the age of twenty, seven were from HKT. May have to have a post for a few of the other members as also at the event was Juri and Nana who are two of my current fave AKB members, how many are active these days when you add up all of their teams? Miru from NMB was also at the ceremony. Plenty of Sakura pics from the rite with the bottom ones featuring most of the celebrants, after the pics check out a video of it. The ceremony was held on January 8th at the Kanda Meigami Shrine in Tokyo.

EDIT: Don't if it was the decision of AKB management but all of the news agencies no longer have a video of the event but have a better one to view from her recent BCS photo shoot.
