Keyakizaka46: "Keyakitte, Kakenai?" episode 96 recap

Think there's only been three or four Keya posts this past month and it's not that I didn't want to do any. But the group has been mysteriously quiet the last month or so, no new mag spreads, event appearances or for the most part zero activities. They have worked hard this year so perhaps they needed a break plus their mother group Nogi has been in the spotlight quite a bit.
Should be a few member's posts this Sunday and Monday as seven of them will be taking a stroll on the catwalk at the 'Girls Awards' Autumn/Winter show. Since the announcement was made for Hiragana's new drama haven't heard any news about it, the show is scheduled to start in October. Really the only thing Keya has done recently was to conclude their first mini tour and it just so happens that the subject of this show was a kind of documentary of the final two concerts.

Shouldn't be as long of a recap as usual as most of the action was highlights from the two shows. They took place at the Makuhari Messe Hall in Chiba, the two concerts were sold out and the capacity is 18,001, the one is for all of their Aussie fans. Dates for the shows were August 28th and 29th. Also in attendance for the second show were the two hosts Tsuchida and Sawabe, that pair had way too much screen time as they're both hogs when it comes to the cameras.
Don't have the entire set list but the group performed a very long show and naturally played close to every song they have. Think currently they blow away Nogi in concert as this and the other two shows I've seen from them are so exciting plus enjoy the time the subgroups get. There's about five or more of them now with Aozora to MARRY being the best. They sang one tune but it was the one off the new album and not "Wareta Smartphone", I would have asked for my money back.

Bit of a mishap above as one of Yuuka's shoes fell off as she was climbing the stairs to the stage. There was another incident like that and wonder if it happens more than we know at shows. When Hiragana was singing one of their tunes Shiho fell off the stage and it was hard to notice.
It was a small stage that was set up in the middle of the audience and it was a bit too high for her to jump back on to. So Shiho ended up running through the crowd and joined her mates via a ramp just in time for the song's conclusion.

The mini tour ended up traveling to six cities where they performed a total of eleven concerts, one of them was at the August 4th 'Tokyo Idol Fest'. All in all this show had about seventeen minutes of the concerts as the hosts took up a third of the air time. That meant not much time could be devoted to individual members but at least one cameraman did his job superbly.

That choked up expression from Minami was for the one member who did have a long solo turn in the spotlight. That person was Yui I. who had taken a four month leave from the group due to health reasons and these two shows were the only ones she performed at on the tour.
At both shows she sang a solo tune and while her voice seems tuneful it's not a strong enough one, to me Neru may be the best vocalist in the group. She had a solo song too but we only saw a very small portion of it on the show. Least Yui is looking really good, during her absence she had her hair cut and her looks improved by leaps and bounds.

Forget the name of the song now but Yurina had a bit of an adventure. Before the tune began she ran under the stage and doused herself with buckets of water. Not only her but some of the staff joined in and there must have been at least ten buckets poured on her.

Last two songs in the second show that they performed were the group's most known singles and they waited until the encore to do them. They are "Silent Majority" and Fukyouwaon", the second one was definitely the highlight of the show.
The two concerts I've seen are when the group performed at last year's 'NTV Halloween Show'. That was an enjoyable watch but by far the better concert was their 'One Man Live Show' which was held on December 25th. Keya did twenty songs and it was over 140 minutes long, fairly easy to get and highly recommend it.

I much prefer these mini documentary type of shows versus the studio ones which have gotten too boring. Was going to recap episode 95 but it was so bad couldn't even finish watching it. As mentioned it's been a slow last month for the group but expect their activities to pick up soon with the new drama starting. Also it's about time for a new single as there's only been one this year, perhaps if one is coming out it'll be the theme song for the new show. But then again seeing as how it's starring the Hiragana members think they're more deserving of singing it.

  1. My training in both Assassins Creed and Tekken payed off wonders, blended into the groups...then crouch dashed my way in...but then it became like tetris...that last seat was never filled in the end
    :(

  2. As far as I know they don't have any concert DVD's but then again until this tour they had done very few concerts. That blending in wasn't entirely unnoticeable as the hands were seen pulling Shiho off stage....

Had a feeling it would be on the 5th single which happens to be coming out Oct.25(yayy!), your foresight is unparalleled

  4. My foresight never tells me what the winning lottery numbers will be. Didn't know about the news until you mentioned it, the single is coming out five days after the drama starts but no clue yet if it'll be the theme song.

  6. I wish I could see the full performance of this concert .. The venue looks extravagant and I think it was silly to show that much of Sawabe and Tsuchida when obviously the fans only want to see how awesome the show was.
    Sigh ...
I would pay to purchase the full concert DVD for this . Why did they not even make that .
That performance of Fukyouwaon with blood, wow .So epic.. .
