Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Nogizaka46: "NogiEigo" show episode one recap and screenshots

To be honest the one thing I really like about the Nogi posts here compared to other blogs or sites is the variety that's here. Have really everything about the group like mag spreads, drama reviews, promo events, group cards, news, TV appearances, concert pics and just about anything that the group does. Other sites have some fine pics but that's really it, no descriptions of many things plus all you mainly find are mag spreads, think this was the only place that reviewed every episode of the 'Bemars' drama in English. Most of Nogi posts here get quite a few views so think others are appreciating those kinds of posts so thanks for all the views they get.
More variety here as the group had another show that started June 28th on TBS called "NogiEigo" which means Nogi English. There were five regular episodes plus two specials, don't know if that's all the episodes that were planned but seemed as though it could have gone on longer. In the show a few of the members try to exhibit their (lack of) English skills, there's also a teacher there to help them out.
There are four regular members who appear on each show, those are Ami, Hina, Hinako and Maaya, on this first show Reika made a guest appearance. There's also two regulars outside of the group who appear on the shows, one is a guy named Suzuki who I have no idea about. The other regular is Rina Hirata from AKB's Team A, she's probably on the show because she was born in America and lived there for 12 years so her English is quite good.
Don't know if every show will follow the same pattern as this episode is the only one I've seen so far, it's also the only one to be subbed though I think the rest are scheduled to be. There was an English teacher there from a local high school named Tetsuya who guided the members through and tried to teach them more of the basics, Reika seemed to fairly good at English and so did Ami, Maaya was fair but the skills of Hina and Hinako left something to be desired. Always had thought that while most Japanese aren't fluent in English many of the younger ones had a fairly good grasp on many words and phrases. I especially thought that way more so for ones in Idol groups as so many lyrics are in English along with most mag spreads and other promo things.
The teacher played the Beatles song "A Hard Days Night", the members tried to sing along with so-so results except of course for Rina. He also tried to explain to them the lyrics and how a word or phrase can have different meaning. The key word for this show was 'like', in Japanese suki really means just one thing while in English the word can take on many meanings. They did have quite a bit explained to them but have no clue whether they'll remember any of it, perhaps we'll see so in future episodes. Enough of the babble but took so many screenshots think they'll make it easy to follow what the members had to go through. Unsure about the subbing schedule for this show which has already ended it's run but as they're done will be reviewing each show.
